Bad back

I am sure I am not the only one riding with bad back pain. I have arthritis from an old high speed injury. I use a back strengthening belt and I have a seat pad. Are there any other recommendations for riding with back pain?

One of the reasons I like my Harley is because of the rider back rest. That really helps.

Frequent stops and as I age, shorter trips unfortunately. I took a bad fall when thrown from a horse in the Scottish Highlands when 21, feet not out of the stirrups quick enough and landed rear end down. The ops got easier as techniques improved but reached the, can't do anymore stage a few years ago, count my blessings really, could have been a lot worse.

If you’re not doing so already Jerry, regular visits to a good chiropractor are a must!
A good chiropractor can keep your back (and other parts) much healthier, which would hopefully lead to more comfortable riding.

One thing that really helps is my massage chair. I have one of these:

I know Chiropractor helps as well. We call them bone crunchers here lol

Hey Jerry,
I too, am suffering from my ‘early years’ of intense activity, sometimes way beyond the average guy. Years and years of Gymnastic competition, USMC w/Vietnam included, strenuous hardscaping & landscaping.
Long rides on my super bikes and sport bikes does it’s damage on my back. More reasonable choice to get the vintage bikes added to the stable.
Most important for me is my stretching routine. I’m close friends with a chiropractor business Owner but I do not let him touch me…yet! LOL 😆

This.

Is a game changer. Expensive, (I have 3o_O) but makes the back pain just a memory.
I've had the "pillow top" seats on MoCo and Yamaha Royal Star Venture, but the "bucket" shape is all wrong.
The "sit IN" of cruisers now goes against the what I call "kitchen chair" posture. I LOVED the pogo stick suspended sofa seat on the early 70's Electra Glide. Ride one if you get a chance.

The secret to Day-Long is your weight is born on your THIGHS, not your arse.

Landed hard on my tail bone, on ice, years ago as the result of a high speed cork screw on a snowmobile.
