Im getting oil ( i think its oil... ) on my sprocket... whats that telling me?

What's up gents, I have a 06 jackpot. It has "a ness" exhuast on it and after riding to work ( about 8 minute ride ) my sprocket is covered in black ****...? What are your thoughts? I'm guessing it's blow by aka piston rings bit I new to these v twins.
